Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Gridlooper (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use our crochet pattern design, 3D visualisation, marketplace, credits, and community features.
Who we are
Gridlooper is an online workspace for creating crochet generation projects, reviewing 3D visualisations, buying and selling patterns on the marketplace, managing generation credits, joining communities, and optionally linking Patreon memberships.
Information we collect
Account and identity data through Clerk, such as your user id and email address. Project and pattern data you create or upload, including project names, descriptions, configuration, cover images, generation jobs, and resulting assets. Marketplace and purchase records, including listing details, order status, and related payout metadata for sellers. Payment-related identifiers processed by Stripe (for example customer or Connect account references). We do not store full card numbers. Optional Patreon connection data, such as your Patreon user id, OAuth tokens (stored encrypted), scopes, and campaign links used to verify community access. Community data, such as communities you create or join, roles, and curated pattern collections. Technical and usage data needed to operate the service, such as job status history, credit ledger entries, and basic request security signals.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure your account, run generation jobs, store and deliver assets, manage credits and purchases, operate the marketplace and seller payouts, power communities and Patreon entitlement checks, provide customer support, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run Gridlooper, including: • Clerk for authentication and account management • Stripe for payments, credit purchases, and seller payouts • Patreon when you choose to link your Patreon account • Cloud storage and queue/infrastructure providers used to store assets and process jobs We may also share information if required by law, to protect the service or users, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information.
Payments and marketplace
Credit purchases and marketplace payments are handled by Stripe. Seller onboarding uses Stripe Connect. Stripe processes payment details under its own terms and privacy policy. We keep the transaction and account metadata needed to fulfill purchases, track credits, and pay sellers.
Patreon and communities
If you link Patreon, we request only the scopes needed for the action you started (for example verifying your memberships, or linking a creator campaign to a community). Tokens are stored encrypted. You can unlink Patreon from your account settings. Community membership and collection data are stored so we can show community pages and enforce join rules.
Retention
We keep account, project, purchase, credit, community, and job records for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. You may request deletion of your account data, subject to records we must retain.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the service, including authenticated APIs, encrypted Patreon tokens at rest, and access controls around private assets. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update account details through Clerk-powered profile settings, unlink Patreon, leave communities you joined, and contact us for privacy requests.
Children
Gridlooper is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
